Chilliwack Ribfest Returns for Its Third Year with a Special Hometown Focus

The mouth-watering aroma of slow-smoked ribs will once again fill the air at Vedder River Park this summer as Chilliwack Ribfest returns for its third consecutive year. Set for July 25-27, 2025, this year’s event promises to be better than ever with a dedicated “Hometown Chilliwack” theme celebrating the local community that has embraced this summer tradition.

A Community Celebration

What began as an ambitious addition to Chilliwack’s summer calendar has quickly become one of the Fraser Valley’s most anticipated food events. Now in its third year, Chilliwack Ribfest continues to evolve, with 2025’s edition placing a special emphasis on community connections.

“After two successful years, we wanted to return to our roots and really celebrate what makes Chilliwack special—its people and tight-knit community spirit,” says Greater Vancouver Food Truck owner Jason Faria. “The ‘Hometown Chilliwack’ theme will showcase local talent, businesses, and the incredible community that makes this event possible year after year.”

Award-Winning BBQ Masters

This year’s event features an impressive lineup of championship ribbers who will bring their smoky expertise to Vedder River Park:

  • Prairie Smoke & Spice BBQ
  • Gator BBQ
  • GuerillaQ
  • Rosie’s BBQ and Smokehouse
  • Henry’s Outdoor BBQ

Each pitmaster will compete for attendees’ votes while serving up mouth-watering ribs, pulled pork, brisket, and other BBQ favorites that have made Ribfest a can’t-miss culinary experience.

Beyond the Grill

While the star of the show remains the championship-caliber BBQ, Chilliwack Ribfest offers much more than just incredible food. The event’s main stage will showcase local Chilliwack talent throughout the weekend, providing the perfect soundtrack for your BBQ feast.

The dedicated craft beer tent by Event Pour Co. is returning, offering the perfect complement to smoky BBQ flavors. Families will appreciate the enhanced kids’ zone with activities running throughout the weekend. There will also be an expanded community marketplace highlighting local artisans, makers, and businesses that represent the best of Chilliwack’s entrepreneurial spirit.

A Growing Tradition

What’s particularly remarkable about Chilliwack Ribfest is how quickly it has established itself as a beloved community tradition. In just two years, it has grown from a new addition to the summer calendar to an event that locals mark down months in advance.
