Bao Buns debuted at the Richmond Night Market in 2021, and we’ve been a fixture there ever since. Our buns quickly won over visitors, and word spread fast on social media, helping us become one of the most popular desserts at the market.
This year, we launched our first Bun Mobile and began attending some of the top summer festivals and events. A highlight was winning the 2024 BC Food Truck Wars Best in Show Award, which was a great honor. Today, we’re proud to be members of the Greater Vancouver Food Truck Fest Association and have had the opportunity to collaborate with well-known brands like Dished Vancouver, Blueprint Events, and Vancity Eats.
Before starting Bao Buns, Yoseb owned a bubble tea café for 8 years, where he learned the ins and outs of running a business and the importance of innovation. It was during a period of product testing that the idea for Bao Buns was born. Inspired by the endless flavor possibilities centered around a delicious fried bun, Yoseb created Bao Buns—a brand built on the belief that food should bring joy, connect people, then leave you smiling and satisfied.
Our Signature Bao Bun is made with a traditional Chinese steamed milk bun. We deep fry the bun so it’s crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. Topped with a scoop of locally made premium Vanilla ice cream, then drizzled with condensed milk and an icing sugar finish. This is the perfect hot and cold dessert to share with friends or family.
