The Greater Vancouver Food Truck Festival’s story began in 2015 as the Fraser Valley Food Truck Festival. While a lot has changed in the last 9 years our founding principles are still the same.
It’s no secret the past four years have been challenging for the event industry. Pre-pandemic our free community events brought together 10,000 people to enjoy a selection of 20-25 food trucks, 20 market vendors, live and roaming entertainers and community activations. We visited cities such as Langley, Surrey, Coquitlam, Burnaby, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Maple Ridge and Port Moody.
While 2020 & 2021 didn’t go as planned, with a bit of creativity, the GVFTF pivoted by bringing food trucks to local communities using a drive-thru model. In combination with scaled down market events, the GVFTF was able to put on over 20 weekends worth of community festivals in 2021!
Our success continues to be rooted in flexibility and a willingness to work outside the box to facilitate great events for local attendees, vendors, partners and our generous sponsors.
To support our vendors we launched our food truck booking program to assist those looking to book a food truck for their event or business find the perfect local truck fit!
To support our local makers and other local businesses in BC, we created @BCShopLocal for our community to shop their favourite local stores directly online.
Finally, to support other service industry businesses and entrepreneurs, we founded Total Event Co. Our production parent company to utilize our 20+ year experience in the industry to help others succeed.
