2020 Recap: The year of innovation.

It’s no surprise to anyone that 2020 was a year full of challenges for the event industry & food trucks. The GVFTF was faced with critical decisions in early March, with events scheduled to begin later that month. With the uncertainty of the coming months, the GVFTF worked tirelessly to find solutions that would allow events to operate safely for the community and our incredible food truck operators.

With a little imagination and innovation, we were able to host 26 events in 2020. More than any previous year! While these events looked a lot different and were much smaller in capacity than in a normal year, we are proud of our accomplishments despite COVID-19 shutdowns. We want to thank all the community members who came out to support the festival and our vendors. Without our amazing followers, we wouldn’t be able to support the many food truck operators who saw significant declines in their revenues in a year with major event cancelations. We also want to thank our title sponsors Coast Capital Savings and Grosvenor Brentwood who allowed us to continue our events with free admission to the community!

If you couldn’t make it out to the 2020 drive-thru or The Brentwood Great Takeout series, make sure you follow our events page, Facebook, or Instagram pages for 2021 events! Thanks again to everyone who helped us turn a challenging year into something that we will never forget. We look forward to continuing to build these fantastic community events into fun for the whole family while supporting our beloved small business owners of BC!
